TRISH'S TIDBITS FOR NOVEMBER 2009

This has truly been a great year for the Princess Charlotte Alopecia Foundation. We have achieved so much awareness of alopecia in the community during 2009, and hopefully this will continue into 2010.
Our new ambassador Stephanie Rice has helped raise our profile. The launch of our 1st annual Awareness Week in late September with a walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Homebush Aquatic Centre and our new banner proudly displayed around the city and suburbs certainly drew attention to our foundation.
There have been many successful fundraisers this year, including events at Narrabeen, Taree, Forster and even Launceston. All raised money for the foundation as well as hair donated for the Tresses for Princesses campaign.
We thank all the wonderful people who worked so hard to make these events so successful.
We had a great day at the picnic at Bicentennial Park and a spectacular swimming afternoon at Homebush Aquatic Centre with Stephanie racing all challengers.
We were proud of Teniah's wonderful gift of her hair to her sister Imogen, and her success in a national modelling competition.
We were happy to see Lachlan and the boys have a bonding day with Dean Canto at Bathurst this past month.
We must thank the committee of the Foundation for their hard work and dedication in making this year so successful, and we thank everyone involved for their support and encouragement.
Now for the final event of 2009- our Christmas party. Please do try and attend on Sunday 13th December at Lane Cove National Park.
For those coming from outside the Sydney area Kath has recommended the Lane Cove River Tourist Park. Camping sites are from $36 per family and cabins $105 to $150. The campsite is approximately 2.5 kms by foot or car from the picnic site at Carters Creek site 9. More information can be found from their website. We would appreciate an email to confirm that you are coming for catering purposes by the 6th December. Email address to confirm attendance is pcaf@bigpond.com
Lastly I was lucky to have an article published in the Medical Observer about Alopecia. This magazine goes to over 20.000 GPs and 4,500 Specialists, registrars and other senior hospital personnel nationally.
This article will be published on the website in the next few months.
